         A Message From Redeemer’s Council President….

By the time you read this, Redeemer will have celebrated Reformation Sunday and the 500th anniversary of Martin Luther’s 95 thesis. There are many activities planned including a reenactment of the nailing up of the thesis, presentation of the new quilted banner, and a German style luncheon. Council has been busy working on a preliminary 2018 budget, and pledge commitments will be collected November 5. The budget will then be finalized at the November meeting and presented to the voters on December 3 with a backup date of December 10. Currently 2017 giving is meeting the budget. We still need to build up our emergency funds again since the paving and steps covering have taken care of much of what we had in reserve. The greening of the church is set for December 17. Since Christmas Eve is on a Sunday this year, council has proposed a single 3:00 pm service for that day, with the final decision to come from the music and worship committee.
