         A Message From Redeemer’s Council President….

*Council had their August meeting on the 8th and discussed the following major items:

*September 17 is kickoff Sunday with hamburgers and bratwurst on the menu. Bring a dish to pass. Signup sheet will be posted. The Rick Steves video “Lutherland” will be shown.

*Jocelyne Erkenbeck is unable to continue as Lay minister for Equipping. Council voted to leave the position open for now with Pastor and Judy Cook doing monthly reports.

*The quilt celebrating the 500th anniversary of the Reformation is nearing completion. A plaque describing it was authorized.

*Due to member conflicts, the council meeting date has been shifted to the third Thursday of the month beginning in September.

*Our summer of rain has delayed projects from both our contractors for the parking lot and exit covering. Both contractors assure us the projects will be completed before bad weather.

*Overall giving is slightly over budget and reflects increased giving to the capitol emergency fund.

*Overall spending is slightly over budget due primarily to the front-loaded expenditures each year for insurance, licenses, etc.
